The Murray Joint Fire District is a political subdivision of the state and a district corporation, encompassing the Town of Murray. The Murray Joint Fire District is governed by a separate board of seven fire commissioners, elected by the qualified voters of the district at the annual election held on the second Tuesday in December of each year. Each commissioner is elected to a five-year term commencing on the 1st of January following the election. There will always be an experienced Commissioner on the board. Fire district commissioners receive no compensation. Every commissioner needs to maintain residence in the fire district for their entire term. The board meets at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of every month at Murray Station #1 at 7 Thomas St, Holley, NY 14470.
